I’ve been trying to think of a good analogy to explain why this is important. Because here’s the thing about HTML5, a lot of people who aren’t big into the tech stuff look at an HTML5 script and go “oh, ok, it’s just like flash. I get it.” But here’s the thing, what’s happening on your screen is happening without any plugin or secondary program. So it’s kind of like being able to build a skyscraper without a crane. Kind of, not really. But you get the idea, no outside help necessary. Which is cool in the whole idea that design and engineering should be about making things as elegant and use as few working parts as possible.
Anyway, here’s a great website that starts to show the possibilities of what HTML5 will be able to do.
